For his last hurrah,
Sundance returned to a familiar place to walk the halls, kiss a
few hands and raise his head for many loving pats.
The 8-year-old Labrador was back at the Beatitudes Campus, the
care facility in north Phoenix where, more than three years ago,
he made one of his first visits as a Hospice of the Valley
pet-therapy dog. He was the top dog, the only pet when the Pet
Connections program began in 2006. Now, 175 pets make regular
visits across the Valley. It's a healthy following, but one that
Sundance is leaving behind.(click

Sundance has been the "face"
of Hospice of the Valley's pet therapy program,
appearing in television ads for the facility with Hugh Downs.
He retires from his job in November, 2009.
